Our Defence client based in the Hague, Netherlands is looking for a Master Scheduler/Programmer Planner to join their team. This is a long term contract opportunity.

Please note that this role is full onsite in the Hague and candidates need to hold valid SC or NATO clearance.


The Senior Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, coordinating with project managers and stakeholders, and monitoring project progress to track key milestones. They generate regular schedule reports, perform critical path analyses, and identify potential risks to mitigate delays

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
* BA or BS degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Project Management or Business Administration is preferred
* Experience in project scheduling, with at least 2 years in a scheduling or project management role.
* Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar software.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., PMBOK, Agile, PRINCE2).
* Ability to perform critical path analysis, resource leveling, and risk management.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and issues.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to present complex scheduling information in a clear and concise manner.
* Exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and consistency.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
o Certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI-SP (PMI Scheduling Professional), or PRINCE2 Practitioner is often required or highly preferred.
o Familiarity with NATO project management standards, procedures, and documentation requirements.
o Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate scheduling risks.
o Knowledge of risk management techniques and tools.
o Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, including cross-functional and multi-national teams.
o Experience in mentoring and training junior team members.
o Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
o Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:
* Allocate resources effectively across the project, ensuring optimal utilization.
* Identify resource constraints and work with project managers to address them.
* Perform critical path analyses to identify essential tasks and potential delays.
* Develop strategies to address critical path issues and minimize project delays.
* Integrate various sub-schedules (e.g., for different teams or workstreams) into the master schedule.
* Ensure that all sub-schedules are aligned and contribute to the overall project timeline.
* Manage changes to the project schedule, ensuring that any modifications are documented and communicated to all stakeholders.
* Assess the impact of changes on the overall project timeline and resources.
* Utilize advanced scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) to develop and manage project schedules.
* Train and support team members in using scheduling tools effectively.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all schedule-related inquiries and communications.
* Maintain clear and open communication channels with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency in scheduling activities.
* Establish and track schedule performance metrics, such as schedule adherence, variance, and forecast accuracy.
* Use these metrics to provide insights and recommendations for project improvement.
* Maintain detailed records of scheduling activities, decisions, and changes.
* Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for audits and reviews
