LOCATION: HYBRID, 2 DAYS ONSITE IN GLASGOW
DURATION: 12 MONTH INITIAL CONTRACT

The IT Project Manager will lead the integration and decommissioning of legacy trading systems, managing the transition to modern vendor technologies. This role requires a deep understanding of change management, governance, risk controls, and legacy system transformation. The IT Project Manager will ensure that project management processes are aligned with the organization's strategic objectives and control frameworks. The successful candidate will also be responsible for delivering a robust data rerun tool infrastructure and ensuring the smooth integration of legacy systems into new surveillance capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Trading Hub Integration & Decommissioning:
o Lead the decommissioning of the legacy in-house built Trading Hub system and oversee the transition to a modern vendor technology platform.
o Manage project governance, ensure alignment with change management protocols, and address feedback on project artefacts, testing, deployment, and periodic reviews.
2. Legacy System Controls & Transformation:
o Oversee the rewriting and decommissioning of legacy controls for scenarios involving Trading Hub and other in-house systems like BABS.
o Develop a Python framework for converting RBS Java-based systems for scenarios outside the Trading Hub, transitioning all remaining legacy RBS components to new surveillance capabilities.
3. Data Rerun Tool Infrastructure:
o Build and implement a data rerun tool infrastructure, supporting a calibration environment (Calib Env) to handle data re-runs and reconciliation.
4. Project Management & Governance:
o Lead project management activities, including budgeting, stakeholder management, and risk assessments, ensuring alignment with organizational governance standards.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring project milestones, timelines, and deliverables are met.
5. Change Management:
o Ensure change and transformation processes are executed efficiently, addressing governance feedback and ensuring that controls are robust.
o Lead training and knowledge transfer for teams transitioning to new systems and processes.
6. Stakeholder Management:
o Engage with key stakeholders across business and technology teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
o Provide clear communication and documentation throughout the project lifecycle to ensure transparency and successful delivery.
Key Skills & Competencies:
* Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across various departments.
* Risk Assessments & Governance: Experience in risk management, ensuring projects align with governance standards and controls.
* Strategic Thinking: Ability to align projects with broader business objectives, balancing long-term strategy with immediate project goals.
* Change Management: Skilled in driving transformation projects, handling feedback, and refining project artefacts, testing, and deployments.
* Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of legacy systems (RBS Java), new vendor technologies, and developing Python frameworks.
* Data Tool Development: Experience in building infrastructure and tools to support data rerun and calibration environments.
* Written Communication: Excellent documentation skills to provide clear governance reports, project updates, and training materials.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT project management, ideally within a trading or financial services environment.
* Demonstrated experience in legacy system decommissioning, vendor integration, and governance.
* Strong technical knowledge of Python, Java, and legacy system controls.
