Radar Engineers - SC cleared

We are looking for skilled and innovative Radar Engineers at various levels to join our Aerospace & Defence client at their Edinburgh and Luton locations to design, develop, and optimise advanced radar systems for critical applications. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-performance radar solutions that meet the challenging requirements of the aerospace and defence industries.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and integrate radar systems and subsystems, including hardware and software components.
* Conduct performance analysis, modelling, and simulation of radar systems to ensure optimal design and operation.
* Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to define system requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Develop and implement signal processing algorithms for radar detection, tracking, and imaging.
* Evaluate and mitigate radar system vulnerabilities, including electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electronic countermeasures (ECM).
* Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of radar systems in laboratory and field environments.
* Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
* Stay up-to-date with advancements in radar technology and contribute to research and development activities.
Must have:
* Degree in Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
* Proven experience in radar system design, development, or integration within the aerospace or defence sector.
* Strong understanding of radar principles, including waveform design, Doppler processing, and clutter suppression.
* Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or similar for modelling and simulation.
* Knowledge of radio frequency (RF) and microwave engineering, including antenna design and signal processing.
* Experience with radar test equipment such as spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, and network analysers.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical and analytical approach
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and collaboration.
Desirable:
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
* Familiarity with military radar systems and standards.
* Experience with phased array radar technology.
* Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques applied to radar signal processing.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
